Health Hazard Information
Effects of Overexposure: Acute oral (rat) and acute dermal (rabbit) LD50 are both greater than 8,200mg/kg. Minimal irritation with pure moistened product and no skin irritation or sensitization were seen during primary irritation studies in rabbits.
First Aid: In case of skin contact, wash affected areas of skin with soap and water. In case of eye contact, irrigate immediately with water for 15 minutes.
Notes to Physician: None
This product has been determined to be non-hazardous in accordance with 29CFR 1910.1200.
Fire and Explosion Data
Dry powder, foam, or carbon dioxide extinguishers in preference to water.
Special Fire Fighting Measures:
Product has a low fire hazard and will not burn. Consider as a normal nontoxic dust in a fire situation.
Stable, no known conditions leading to instability.
Strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous Decomposition Products:
Thermal decomposition or combustion may produce carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, and/or nitrogen oxides.
Conditions Contributing to Hazardous Polymerization:
Polymerization will not occur.
Spill or Leak Procedures
Releases/Spills: Spilled material may become very slippery when wet. Sweep us area immediately and place waste in disposal container. Flush area with water to remove remaining residue. If still slippery, repeat process until slipperiness is gone.
Neutralizing Chemicals: Water
Waste Disposal Methods: No special methods required. Disposal must be made in accordance with applicable governmental regulations.
Special Protection Information
Ventilation: Engineering controls are not usually needed if good industrial hygiene and safety practices are routinely followed.
Respiratory: None needed. Dusty operations may require dust masks or other applicable controls.
Eye: Use splash proof goggles for operations where eye and face contact can occur.
Gloves: Impervious gloves will minimize skin contact.
Other Equipment: None Needed
Maintain good housekeeping to control accumulation of dust. Dust may be explosive if mixed with air in critical proportions and in the presence of a source of ignition.
Do not use iron, copper, or aluminum containers or equipment to avoid product degradation and equipment corrosion. Before eating, drinking or smoking, wash face and hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Handling and Storage Requirements
Transport and store material under dry conditions to prevent caking caused by water absorption from the atmosphere. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent polymer chain breakage.
